There's a contact form on the site: https://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/contact.php

That's been pretty much answered. I think the developer account is not going to be renewed, which means the app will be fully removed either some time in April or some time after.

@kitejan - I got the 16 tracks IAP back by going through the Purchase steps instead. Rather than trying Restore, I just "bought" the IAP as though I didn't own it. I wasn't charged anything in the end. You're walked through all the steps, including agreeing to pay, then it finally tells you that you already bought it and…

If you can get an older iPad that can run NS1 and install it and the IAP before it's gone, then you can preserve it by "freezing" that iPad (just don't connect it to WiFi). NS1 will live on it as long as the iPad continues booting. My problem with restoring the IAP for 16 tracks already is concerning though.

I backed up NS1 to my MacBook with iMazing then dug out my old old old iPad 2. After restoring it to factory settings, which I had to do since the MacBook wouldn't talk to it unless I did, I was able to install NS1 from iMazing. The first thing that happened when I opened NS1 was it had to connect to the App Store to…

How much does a skilled developer get paid over five years? That should get you in the ballpark I would think.
-
There is also the yearly expense of an Apple Developer account that is needed to keep the app in the store. If the app isn't to make any money then that is a sunk cost for a developer.
-
@"Blip Interactive" - I wonder if you could let us know if you'll be only removing the app from "sale" in the App Store, or if you'll be removing it altogether. Apps merely removed from sale in the App Store can still be restored by existing owners from their Purchased Items. Apps completely removed, or where the developer…

fwiw @"Blip Interactive" - I know of one other developer who declined to bow to the EU requirement. They chose to keep their apps available everywhere else but the EU as sales in the EU were only about 25% of their total. I assume the other 75% was enough to make it worth keeping up with the yearly Apple developer account…

I see what you're getting at now. Yes, that's a different kind of backup than the app backup I've been describing. The app backup doesn't copy anything from your device. It only downloads from the App Store. iMazing does have a separate file system level backup that includes the app's Document folder (but not the app…

Unfortunately then you are stuck. The app will keep working on any devices you have it installed on, but you won't be able to install it on a new device. If it's critical to you then perhaps seeking out a friend who would let you back it up to their PC or Mac might be worth the effort. This is assuming that the app is…

I don't think iMazing can back up and restore IAP content. I would love to be wrong about that of course. Detailed info and instructions: https://forum.loopypro.com/discussion/comment/1363294/#Comment_1363294

Here is some detailed information on using iMazing to back up apps to a PC or Mac. Unfortunately, I don't think IAP content can be backed up or restored once the app is fully gone from the App Store. But the app itself can be backed up provided you do so before it's removed from the App Store.…

If all you want is midi in to play instruments NS2 then you don’t need AUM or Audiobus. Just make sure that Background Audio/Midi is enabled in Xynthesizer’s settings. Set Xyenthesizr to output on Virtual Midi, then select Xynthesizer as the midi input for the track. If you want audio from Xynthesizer then you need AUM, or…

Do you mean for MIdi sequencing only, or do you want to get the audio to sound in NS2?
-
midiSTEPs is a really fun app, and I think may be the one you're referring to. I thought I had better mention though that there's a new app called MidiStep that's far more complex. I don't own it and can't tell from the App Store description if it has step input or not. There is a detailed series of videos from the…

The excessive latency only applies to Bluetooth audio. Bluetooth MIDI (BLE MIDI) has very little latency. Most people don't have any problem with it unless they're pretty sensitive to latency. BLE Midi is generally less than 1ms added latency, whereas Bluetooth Audio is hundreds of times higher.
-
If you already own NS1 then you can still find it in your purchased items in the App Store - if you have an old device with a compatible iOS version. There's no other way to get it on iOS / iPadOS. There are Windows and MacOS versions available, but I think you have to have a pretty old MacOS version to be able to run that…

@NitoINC, Hopefully you'll never be mistreated here. However, as @SlapHappy says, it's pretty quiet here. Still, you should get answers for any NS2 related questions. There are people here who check to see if any questions or problems come up. Another (almost always) friendly place is the Audiobus Forum. Unless you,…

You can probably do what you want with the free Streambyter app. Basically, you run it standalone outside of NS2 and it just sits there giving you something to send midi out of and back into NS2. Check this Wiki article for a similar use case that you may be able to adapt to your usage. If not, or you need help, describe…

You should be able to see the files in two places. * Going to Settings > Manage MIDI Files * In the song screen, tap the icon that looks like a piece of paper at the top of the tracks list.

NS2's sustain pedal treatment isn't completely standard. Sustain is handled by the DAW rather than being passed through to plugins for them to handle it. I think this is related to what you're seeing. This post explains it much better than I can:…

As a 32 bit app, NS1 can only run on devices with iOS 10 or earlier. Sorry, but there's no way around that. However, if you have an windows PC or old Mac, you can download it and try to run it there. I was unsuccessful running NS1 on MacBook Pro with macOS Monterey. Same problem, no 32-bit app support. According to this…

It might be worth checking if Hanon B70 shows up in GarageBand and/or Logic on the Mac.

Right where I said it was.

Some plugins don't report their presets properly, so the host can't list them. You'll find that other hosts don't list those presets either. The only solution is to use DrumComputer's internal preset browser instead.

Playing the sample is as easy as hitting the Root note, which defaults to C3 but can be changed. If the recording is set to Loop (the default), it'll repeat for as long as the note is held down. So you can place a pattern with that note in the timeline. The biggest drawback is the sample won't sound unless the playhead…

Pick an Oscillator, change its type to Sample, then hit the Rec Sample button that you'll now see.

I've used it a few times. It's OK but to me is more trouble than it's worth. You can't record directly into it from audio inputs, so you have to record in standalone and import. And, you don't see the audio in the timeline which is inconvenient. (You can create empty dummy tracks to mark audio positions but ...) To me…

Another way to use vocal or other audio samples in NS2 is with a plugin such as Loopy Pro or 4Pockets Multitrack Recorder. Not a great option though. You can't record directly to them in NS2, you have to import to them after recording to them standalone.
